Helen O’ Callaghan MIACP
Helen’s social work experience is invaluable both in keeping her well informed on Child Protection legislation and in the first hand experience gained through ground work. Helen previously worked in Mental Health Services at a Residential Therapeutic setting and is actively involved with child care and welfare acting as a family assessor for a fostering agency. She is passionate about suicide awareness completing her thesis in UCC on ‘Educating Children for Grief as A Way Forward’ based on the Seasons For Growth bereavement program. She is a volunteer with Childline services in Cork and with the HSE Mental Health counselling services in Midleton. Helen’s area of expertise lies in general counselling using a humanistic integrative approach drawing on her vast experience and training. Her focus is on the creation of a warm safe environment where the relationship between client and counsellor is of paramount importance. She feels that it is within this space true healing begins. Much of Helen’s work is influenced by the holistic approach developed during her time spent in Marymount Hospice as a Social Worker hence she is very qualified in areas of grief, loss, separation, family issues, inheritance, relationship/domestic and child/adolescent grief. She has valuable experience in dealing with end of life concerns and issues. |

Dr. Aidan O’Driscoll MAREBT, ICBT Accr.
Aidan specializes in cognitive behaviour therapy with specific emphasis on Rational-Emotive & Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. His doctoral thesis was on Self-Concept, Gender Identity and Gender Stereotyping. He is a full member of the Association for Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy and has accreditation with the Institute of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. He received his clinical Fellowship training in Rational-Emotive & Cognitive Behaviour Therapy at the Albert Ellis Institute, New York. Aidan offers counselling and therapy in the following areas:

Paul O’Neill MIACP
Paul uses the person-centered counselling which focuses on the personal relationship between a counsellor and client. The development of trust and understanding within this counsellor / client relationship encourages self-realisation and enables the client to acknowledge the problems and issues they are disclosing, allowing the client to tap into their own potential helping towards resolving their issues, with gentle encouragement and guidance from the counsellor. Catherine O’Mahoney
Catherine joined the Cork Counselling team in September 2009. She offers both counselling and psychotherapy in a wide range of issues, including:
Catherine works with clients using the Humanistic and Person-Centered approach. She is caring and non-judgemental, providing a safe environment where individuals can explore their feelings, understand their motivations and look within themselves for their own solutions to problems. Jerome Riordan MIAHIP
Jerome has gained a lot of experience working with young people and adolescents through his work with the student counselling service in the University of Limerick. He is currently the resident Counsellor for YouthReach in Fermoy. He specialises in the areas of anger management, anxiety, depression and panic attacks and has developed six session treatment programmes, using a mindfulness based cognitive behavioural approach which is solution focused. He has a strong belief in the clients ability to work out their own solutions using his facilitation skills.
